Ending the 343-day Knockout title reign of Deonna Purrazzo, Women Wrestling Report’s #1 ranked wrestler for 2020-21, earned Mickie James Wrestler of the Week honors for October 25.
James, one of the most accomplished ladies of the past 20 years, defeated Purrazzo at Impact Wrestling’s Bound for Glory 2021 in Las Vegas October 23.
The match was the third for James, all wins, in recent weeks and followed victories over Kylie Rae and Savannah Evans. James has also been busy behind the scenes, putting together the highly regarded NWA EmPowerrr show in St. Louis August 28.
What’s next? With an Impact roster which includes talents such as Evans, Jordynne Grace, Chelsea Green, and Tasha Steelz; newcomers Cassie Lee, Jessie McKay, and Masha Slamovich; and of course, Purrazzo, James will have no shortage of potential worthy challengers.
